canon 3.5-5.6/28-135mm IS
This was the first EOS lens I purchased,
at the same time as my D60, in Malaysia. In fact, it was (at the time of purchase)the first
lens many amateurs buy with new EOS gear, as an "all-rounder",
a role it fulfills well. (These days, Canon bundle in cheaper kit lenses with their digital SLRs).
It's by no means a spectacular lens; it's
on the slow side (f/3.5-5.6), and images I get from this lens are often
a bit lower in contrast and "punch" - both easily fixed with
a bit of Photoshop work. On the other hand, consider this lens's good
points:
- It has IS (Image Stabilization)
- It has a USM motor, so it's quiet.
- It's quite light, without feeling cheap.
- It has a handy focal length range, ideal for just taking a single lens out on a sunny day.

All of the Malaysia
2002 gallery pictures were taken with this lens. These were amongst
the first pictures I took with the D60 after I bought it.
