The Industar-22 50mm f/3.5 is a derivative of the
collapsible Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3.5 of the 1930's... which in turn was
derivative of Zeiss Tessar lenses. I can't speak for whether the Soviet
version is a match for its more noble heritage, but I at least cannot
fault my copy of this lens. It is sharp, with nice contrast and renders
colours beautifully. When collapsed on the Zorki-1
body, the whole ensemble becomes pocketable.

Samples Shots
The following sample, taken with this lens, was shot
with supermarket-grade Fuji Superia 400 film, and the resulting print
was scanned using a consumer-grade $100 document scanner. A lot is lost
in the translation, I'm afraid...
