industar-26 2.8/52mm lens

The Industar-26 is a 52mm f/2.8 lens with M39 mount (Leica Screwmount) that is the standard lens with many FED-2 camera models. It is derivative of the pre-war Zeiss Tessar. I have shot only one roll of film using this lens to date, and the roll demonstrates that my copy is at least sharp.

52mm, you say? Yes, despite a few people writing to correct me on what they thought was a typing mistake, this is a 52mm lens, not 50mm. It says so right on the lens itself! Maybe there were other versions that really were marked 50mm, but mine is not one of those.

Unfortunately, I used Kodak Black & White 400+ film as my first test roll - a film I had no previous experience with. It is a C-41 process film, which means it can be processed by any 1-hour lab. As it turns out, I should have overexposed by a stop to achieve better contrast with this film, and also should have selected a lab with better knowledge of how to get the best out of this type of film. (I have since learned to respect this film, having had great results elsewhere with it!)

So, for now, only one sample image here. I will replace this image with some better samples taken with more traditional films as soon as they're available.
