We spent two days in Dijon (from 22-24 August). |

| After settling down in our room, we went
out for an evening stroll through Dijon. |
The "main drag" of Dijon, taken the following
morning. All the flags are out because there are a number of festivals and sporting events
on in town at the moment. |

| We went down to the village of Beaune on
the 23rd. It was, in medieval times, the seat of the Dukes of Burgundy. This was the
Dukes' residence when in Beaune, and today houses a museum dedicated to wine. |

The other famous Beaune landmark is the Hôtel Dieu, which
was a medieval hospital and hospice for the poor, in use right up until early this
century. |
